My favorite place to learn to dance. Nancy has helped me so much and she always motivates me to try harder when I'm having trouble. I am a returning client on my third trip to Antigua and New Sensations is my home for learning to dance. Whether it is with Nancy, Fatima or Jose I am always shocked by how patient they are and ready to teach and give instruction.

New Sensation is the only true Latin dance academy in Antigua Guatemala. Woman-owned and family-operated they have classes for beginners to advanced levels. Especially of note are the instructors Jose Carlos and Fátima. Jose is hands-down the best male instructor in Antigua and brings a refined international style to Latin dance. Fatima is just lovely if you want to learn deep rumba and hip-hop infused styles. I highly recommend New Sensation to travelers and locals alike.

I’ve been taking classes both as a follower and a lead, and it’s made a huge difference. Fatima is amazing for lady styling. Super clear, practical, and focused on helping you actually move well and feel confident. Jose is incredible for choreography and leading, with a big emphasis on connection and technique that translates really well to social dancing.

They both train and compete internationally, and you can feel that level in how they teach.

They also run the Antigua Salsa y Bachata Festival, which brings in dancers from all over the world. The socials during the festival are especially fun.

Great vibe, great people, and a really solid place to improve.

An incredible place to learn to dance regardless of skill. From seasoned professionals to beginners, this studio has a myriad of instructors to meet your needs. I am highly impressed with the level of instruction from instructors of all ages. High energy. Strict technique for the serious dancer and a ton of fun for those who just want group lessons or a few private lessons to get out on the dance floor with confidence.

It is difficult to add to the many wonderful and well deserved five-star ratings that Nancy has earned for her magnificent New Sensation salsa studio. I first met Nancy about 12 years ago on a trip to Antigua and have visited her several times over the years. Her kindness, patience and passion for teaching and dancing has never faltered. Last month I had the good fortune to spend two weeks in private lessons with her, her daughter Fatima and exceptional student-teacher Angie.
