A shuco is Guatemala’s take on street food—loaded with grilled meats, fresh toppings, avocado, homemade sauces, and plenty of flavor.

This one is the Transmetro, one of the biggest options on the menu, and it’s perfect if you’re ready for the full experience.

Long before chocolate bars, cacao was something entirely different. 🍫🌿

For over 2,500 years, ceremonial cacao has been part of Maya traditions, used in rituals that brought people together to reflect, connect, and slow down.

Experiences like these are a reminder that Antigua isn’t just beautiful streets and colorful buildings—it’s also the gateway to traditions that have been passed down for generations.

Would you try a ceremonial cacao experience?

Q10. Fresh mango with chile from a street cart. Church ruins that have been standing since the 1500s. 7am and the city is barely waking up.
This is the version of Antigua that doesn’t make it onto travel brochures — and it’s the best one.

One of the most famous crêpe spots in Antigua — and one bite tells you exactly why. 🥞
Luna de Miel has been doing French crêpes with local ingredients since 2006. Sweet, savory, handmade every time. Rooftop terrace with volcano views. One of those Antigua spots that never disappoints.

Found our new game day spot in Antigua. ⚽🍻
Sunshine Grill is small, cozy, and exactly the kind of place you want to be when there’s a game on. Good company, relaxed vibes, and the kind of spot you stumble into and end up staying for hours.
Sometimes the best places in Antigua aren’t trying to be anything fancy — they’re just good hangouts.

Climbing gym in Antigua Guatemala. 🧗
Tacaná is the largest climbing gym in Central America — bouldering walls for every level, professional coaches on site, a boxing ring tucked in the back, and a community that makes you want to keep coming back. Oh, and there’s a very good dog named Lucas who runs the place unofficially.
Whether you’ve never climbed before or you’re already obsessed, this is worth the trip.

The oldest church in Antigua… with a chicken bus passing behind it. 🇬🇹
Ermita de Santa Lucía was built in 1542 — the very first church in the city. Most people walk past it without knowing what they’re looking at. We found a spot right in front where if you time it perfectly you get the colonial church AND a chicken bus in the same frame.
That contrast is Antigua in one photo. 500 years of history and everyday Guatemalan life sharing the same street.

Real farm to table is rare. In Antigua, Caoba Farms is doing it right. 🌿
Everything on your plate was growing in their garden before you arrived. 100% organic, wood fired pizza made from scratch, fresh salads, handmade everything — surrounded by lush greenery with the volcanoes in the distance.
But it’s more than just the food. Yoga, acro classes, a weekly artisan market with local craftsmen and natural products, and a team that genuinely pours their heart into this place every single day.
This is what Antigua looks like when you slow down and do it right.
