Casa Madeleine Hotel

I'm late to leave this review, but my best friend and I stayed here for a few nights at the end of March earlier this year. It was such a delight. The staff went above and beyond in every way and were so patient and kind at every turn. I wish I remembered everyone's names, but one of the gentlemen staff offered to walk with me to the post office after numerous failed attempts to mail a post card with my American debit card and my friend's credit card, offering to use his. The ladies were so sweet - and lovely to talk to. Two of the young women even came in early one morning to prepare our breakfast so we had food to go before our early morning departure. I would relish the opportunity to stay here again in the future. *The grounds are historic and peaceful (the plumbing too - so be gentle/mindful of the posted signs).

Communication un peu difficile avec les employés car notre espagnol n’est pas très bon, autres langues impossibles.

Quiero agradecer muchísimo a Liz de Casa Madeleine por toda la ayuda y amabilidad que tuvo conmigo en un momento tan difícil después de mi accidente bajando del volcán. Desde ayudarme a conseguir mi bota ortopédica, traerme medicamento, coordinar nuevamente mi transportación al aeropuerto, hasta estar pendiente de las cosas que necesitaba para hacerme sentir más cómoda. Siempre se portó con una actitud increíblemente amable, paciente, servicial y con una calidad humana que hoy en día es difícil de encontrar.

Well located, about a 10-15 minutes walk to central Antigua. Can be a bit nosy in the morning as located at a busy intersection. Beautiful setting and amazing staff (special thanks to Izabel and David). Breakfast was also delicious. Rooms could use a bit of TLC but nothing alarming… would return.

Casa Madeleine is about a 15-minute walk from the city center and offers a beautiful colonial atmosphere with an incredible view of Volcán de Agua. The rooms and amenities are well maintained, and the beds, sheets, and towels were very clean. However, the jacuzzi and some fabrics in the common areas could use improvement, and there were a few broken glass tables. Overall, a lovely stay with great potentia
