Thai WOW what a tiny portion!
I’ve eaten a lot of Thai food and it is one of my favourite cuisines. However this was rather disappointing. While the ingredients are fresh, my palate didn’t light up. My partner had the yellow curry with chicken and I had the typical Thai salad with chicken, which was atypical in that the vegetables were cooked (stated on the menu) and there was no papaya or the other flavours I’ve come to expect. While service was brisk, despite the restaurant being pretty empty, somehow the kitchen forgot to cook the chicken so my partner was 3/4 through his curry before I could start. The 15% propina felt like a liberty.
The courtyard was beautiful and the fountain pleasing, especially given the traffic outside (everything diverted on to this road for access as it is the first Sunday of Semana Santa).
I’m happy to pay good money for good food, which is not what happened here. If you want an authentic Thai experience, I have no idea where you’d find that here. If you want a lovely environment and ok food, this is fine. My better recommendation is to go to the Korean across the road; that was a delightful culinary experience with lovely service from the owner and staff.
