A Guatemalan Lunch was included with our tour at Del Arco Restaurant, so named because it is located at the base of the arch. The meal was Guatemalan traditional foods, and we chose a meat or vegetarian meal in advance. There was a salad, a main course, and a dessert. We were not told what we were eating, and I tasted most of it, but I confess I didn’t care for most of it. The dessert was some type of chocolate pudding, but it had some Guatemalan hot spice in it which ruined it for me. The restaurant was very attractive, and we ate outside in the courtyard at large tables under umbrellas. There were fountains, birds, and garden plants, all creating a delightful atmosphere.
