Learn how to handle cacao the Mayan way. Make tea and traditional chocolate beverages with chilies and spices as well as your own chocolate creations with different kinds of toppings.
What to Expect:
Roast the cocoa with us, shell it by hand, and learn how to make an infusion from the shell. With a stone mortar and pestle, we pulverize the grains to recreate the authentic Mayan drink with chili and honey.
We pulverize a little more, to create a small cocoa wheel simulating the traditional chocolate to drink, mixing with sugar and ingredients such as cardamom, cinnamon, almond, or macadamia.
In the end, we share 80g of our delicious dark or milk chocolate with you, so you can mold your own chocolates and decorate them with rings, blueberries, coconut, or biscuits.
Such a fun time. I learned so much about cacao and the Mayan's relation with this sacred plant.
The chocolate was delicious.
Definitely worth it!
I took the class in English.
