					Great hotel, beautiful spacious rooms and functioning AC! We also thought the location was perfect, and with your stay you get access to a gym and spa at their sister resort (and gyms are hard to come by in Antigua).

					This hotel is a study in missed potential. The property itself is stunning with beautiful design, a good location, and access to the Portas amenities—especially the pool, which was a perfect 10/10.



Unfortunately, our room was unacceptable. The walls were covered in stains and squashed bugs, the curtains and decorative pillow were stained, and I'm not convinced the floors were cleaned at all. The shower glass was covered in hard water marks. Only the bedding and towels were clean (bare minimum).



The staff experience was inconsistent. Though a few individuals were delightfully helpful, the majority were dismissive and unfriendly, bordering on rude, making it clear that customer service wasn't a priority.



It's truly a shame because with proper cleanliness and attentive staff, this could be an outstanding hotel.

					Sometimes it’s scary traveling in third world countries where the standards are not as high as in other places - that being said I don’t think this place will disappoint you!  We stayed for four nights and absolutely loved the grounds, our room, the customer service and the food.  Really appreciated the water in our room and outside in the common areas.  The restaurant staff especially were engaging and helpful.  Our only criticism - if it can be one was that anything that we inquired about - tours, taxis, restaurant recommendations - seemed to be excessively expensive.  I think I would recommend asking around if you’re comfortable doing so.  We really appreciated that they let us exchange up to $50 each day into quetzales and took advantage of this as the rate seemed fair and it saved us time.  We would absolutely come back and I regret not coming back for our last night in Antigua!
