Hotel Casa Realeza

This is a great spot to stay! It's located on a street with great access to food, bars, motortaxis, and sightseeing. The staff were all very attentive and generous, and we even got our room upgraded for free when we arrived. The only downside is that it's a joint location with a restaurant, so you can hear music from the room until maybe 10pm, but it's not super loud.

Beautiful place places right in the center of everything! The staff is so kind! They definetly make you feel welcome. There's also a great option to have breakfast downstairs. They upgraded my friend and I to a better room which only made our trip more memorable! We also got complimentary drinks on our last night which was just a great end to our night! Excelente hotel, muy buen servicio, muy lindas habitaciones, tal y como se ven en las fotos, muy amable el personal, muy atentos, excelente ubicación. Lo recomiendo sin duda alguna.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Realeza, and the location is hard to beat. The hotel is literally next to La Merced Church, within easy walking distance of Antigua’s main attractions, restaurants, and shops.

We stayed in the Family Room, which was perfect for the three of us. It has a king bed and sofa bed, plus a separate area with a kitchenette and a private jacuzzi right inside the room. After spending the day walking around Antigua, relaxing in the jacuzzi was one of our favorite parts of the stay! The beds were very comfortable, and we were especially grateful for the air conditioning since it was quite warm during our visit.

The included Guatemalan breakfast was another highlight, with eggs, black beans, tortillas, queso fresco, and sweet plantains. They also have a restaurant on site with additional breakfast choices like pancakes, so you can easily have a meal without leaving the hotel. The courtyard is lovely, and some of the second-floor rooms have beautiful views toward the volcano and La Merced.

One unexpected bonus was that our stay included admission to the La Merced ruins next door. I had visited Antigua countless times but had never been inside. Being able to go up to the rooftop and see the city, Santa Catalina Arch, and Volcán de Agua from above was such a special experience.

Fantastic service, a comfortable room, and an incredible location. I would definitely stay here again.
