Doña Luisa Xicotencatl and Fat Cat Cafe – Coffee pick-up from a local coffee shop, followed by tasting delicious banana bread and learning about the history of Doña Luisa Xicotencatl and the bakery.

At the market, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as you explore the bustling vegetable market. Indulge your taste buds with the flavors of Guatemala through traditional dishes like Tamalitos and Chuchitos. These mouthwatering treats consist of corn filled with tomato sauce and meat (with vegetarian/vegan options available).

As you wander further, discover the bounty of seasonal fruits such as Jocotes, Rambutan, Pitaya, or Zapote. Experience the juiciness and exotic flavors that Guatemala has to offer.

Satisfy your sweet tooth at a local candy stand, where you can taste a variety of traditional Guatemalan sweets. Indulge in Tamarindo balls, Guava sweet, and Canillitas de Leche, which reflect the influence of Spanish sugar cane introduction in the region.

Market’s Street Food Zone – Trying Pepian, Joc’on, and Pulique sauces with avocado and tortillas while learning about their history and preparation.

La Merced – Visiting the La Merced street food market and enjoying a hot chocolate or traditional Atol, accompanied by Rellenitos (plantain flour with sweet beans sauce inside and fried). Also tasting Tostadas with guacamole or beans with tomato sauce.

La Calle de Arco – Walking to Arco Street and visiting Hugo’s Ceviches. Trying the famous Picositos drink (a mixture of beer, lime, salt, soy sauce, oyster juice, and chili with parsley) or enjoying a beer, paired with delicious Guatemalan-style ceviche.
