I only ever leave reviews when a place is either really, really bad or truly great — and Casa Donya is beyond exceptional. It’s hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed on my travels, and this trip will always hold a special place in my heart.
This was my first time in Antigua, and fortunate to have found Casa Donya. From check-in to check-out, the team went above and beyond to take care of us. For context, I had injured my back at the lake before arriving, and as soon as I mentioned it, Darya — one of the most genuine people I’ve met while traveling — recommended someone nearby who could help. I also made use of the recovery spa right on the property which was awesome, and did manage to schedule an appointment to see Andrés, who truly saved my back.
The included breakfast was delicious, and we were lucky enough to be the very first guests to take part in their cooking class (a program they’re growing). Learning from Marlon, who is not only a fantastic teacher but also a highlight of our trip, gave us the chance to bring traditional Guatemalan dishes to life.
The level of service here goes far beyond expectations — something many others could take notes on. The location is also perfect: within a 15-minute walk of anything you’d want to see in Antigua.
Not only would I stay here again without hesitation, but I would recommend Casa Donya to anyone visiting Guatemala. They even sent me home with a birthday slice of cake for the flight. Truly one of my favorite travel stays. Wishing Darya and the entire team continued success!
