We were exhausted after two full days of travel and decided to order Guatelavia through Uber Eats instead of dining in. To our delight, the food arrived fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed to feel revived. We ordered three traditional Guatemalan dishes: pepián, jocon de pollo, and kak’ik. Each plate was generous in size, beautifully prepared, and full of authentic flavor.
The pepián had a rich, hearty sauce layered with spice and depth—comforting and satisfying. The kak’ik, a traditional turkey soup, was fragrant, warming, and packed with complexity. But the standout for us was the jocon de pollo. The bright green sauce, made with tomatillo and cilantro, was vibrant, earthy, and unlike anything we’ve tried before. It struck the perfect balance of tangy, savory, and fresh, and quickly became our favorite of the night.
What impressed us most was that even though we ordered delivery, the dishes tasted as if they had just come straight from the kitchen to our table. It’s clear Guatelavia takes great pride in showcasing traditional Guatemalan cuisine. Whether you’re dining in or ordering from the comfort of your Airbnb, this restaurant is a must-try in Antigua.
